My name is Sarah Fountain, I am a children’s book designer, author and illustrator.

Primarily I design beautiful books for children, ranging from picture books to fact books, and maze books to activity books. I work with individual authors, editors and large commercial trade publishers. In the past I worked in-house for educational publishers, children’s magazine publishers and also children’s content publishers. It is a job that I love, and with every book that I work on, I always strive to make it the best book it can be.

As an author and illustrator I am on the path to do more. In 2018 I published my first title, Reynard the Fox myself, and this has been fantastically received. I am also very proud to say that it can be purchased in my local independent bookshop, which for any self-published authors, you will know that this is quite an achievement. Unfortunately lots of self-published titles are often overlooked by bookshops, but by ensuring that the quality of both content and production were of a high, commercial standard – my book can stand proudly alongside its peers.

As well as creating beautiful books, I am also mum to Sidney, 5 and Harriet, 2. As any parent knows, the juggle of work and parenting can be a bit of a faff! I write a Blog on this site too, and you can read many stories of parenting that might reside with you as you go on your own jolly journey of life.
